We're here to inspire business women to achieve even greater success. Our events are friendly, informative, lively, funny and sometimes induce the odd teary eye. Our speakers have successful careers and give sound practical advice on how to juggle home and family responsibilities with creating a flourishing business or reaching new career highs. Our next Networking Event

Our next big networking event is Thursday 4 July 2024 to celebrate a long hot summer (we wish!). Over 60 business women joined Sue and Deb for the last Networking Lunch event in March to celebrate International Womens Day so book your place quickly as tickets go fast!

It's a celebration brunch with two fabulous guest speakers Aly Young and Rachel Emmerson. We start at 9:30am with tea/coffee and a delicious brunch before hearing from our amazing presenters and expect to finish around 1:30pm. The cost is £45. Click on the button below to book.

Aly Young

Aly Young qualified as a solicitor in a corporate City practice in the heady days of the 90’s. Quickly realising that London legal life was not for her, she moved back to her home town in Dover, where she became Assistant Corporate Secretary to the Port of Dover. Headhunted in the Noughties to work for Eurotunnel, she worked in-house and found that this suited her can do/no-nonsense commercial mindset. However…

In 2007 whilst pregnant with her 2nd child, she found herself out of work and went back into private practice in the West End. The next few years were extremely challenging on a personal and professional level. Suffering burnout she began working as a consultant in 2012 as means of survival rather than a positive career choice. In 2022 at the ripe old age of 51, she finally decided the time was right to set up her own regulated legal firm, specialising in helping owner-managed businesses exit through sale.

Aly will share her insights on surviving in what is still a male dominated industry and designing a business that fits with her values as a compassionate, caring and ethical solicitor.

Rachel Emmerson

Rachel Emmerson, is a Partner in Accounts, Outsourcing and Business Services at Kreston Reeves. She went to Chatham Grammar School for Girls and qualified as a Chartered Certified accountant in 2013. During her time at Kreston Reeves, Rachel has gained a wide range of experience working with owner managed business of various sizes and sectors assisting them with their accounting, business tax and personal tax needs, together with business strategy and advisory work.

Rachel also heads up the Debt Funding team supporting clients with debt management and in securing funding when required. She also has a keen interest in our most challenging global problems and believes in harnessing the power of business, getting companies to positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers and our planet. At our event she will be speaking about the BCorp movement and running a small ‘how to’ workshop after the main event.
